NALIP AT FESTIVALS
With the start of every new year, NALIP positions itself
into the festival space by conducting panels, mixers, and participating in the film and media markets around the globe. From markets in the United States to international festivals in Latin America and Europe, NALIP aims to be a globally trusted source for Latinx talent.
20TH KICK OFF: AN EVENING WITH NALIP
To formally kick off the organization’s twentieth anniversary, NALIP hosted an event at the Linwood Dunn Theater at the Academy’s Pickford Center in Hollywood. The event, held on June 12th, was NALIP’s first event in partnership with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and hosted over 150 attendees for a showcase of five short films.
NALIP MEDIA SUMMIT
Guided by the vision of supporting skills, projects, and relationships among Latinx content creators, NALIP was proud to present the 20th Annual NALIP Media Summit. This remarkable event took place at the Hollywood and Highland Center in Hollywood from July 25th to the 27th, and the 28th proceeded at The Montalban to conclude the last day of programming. As the four-day summit’s presenting sponsor, HBO helped NALIP celebrate its 20th anniversary with a fully packed schedule. This year, NALIP took on an astounding 34 panels, totaling over 145 speakers, with the majority of speakers being women. High-profile speakers provided insight and guidance to attendees regarding the television, film, documentary, and digital media spheres. Additionally, the NALIP Media Summit hosted two keynote luncheons, two interactive workshops, and four networking opportunities.
NALIP hosted the Latino Media Awards in the Ray Dolby Ballroom on Saturday, July 27th. Guests enjoyed appetizers, drinks, and photos on the red carpet at the pre-reception, co-presented by Hennessy. Singer-songwriter Giuliana opened the gala portion of the ceremony, hosted by comedian Al Madrigal, with a live musical performance.
