Programs

Incubators programs are the heart of NALIP's year-long initiatives. Designed to propel diverse creatives and professionals to reach new heights in their career through mentorship and connection. Our team works to discover, track, and cultivate the next generation of Latinx Excellence.

Imaginar

The Film Independent Imaginar Producers Residency is a new program created to support Latinx Producers, made possible by The Walt Disney Company and Searchlight Pictures, in collaboration with the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP). The Residency will support three Latinx Producers during a nine-month period.

STARZ #TAKETHELEAD Writers Intensive

NALIP and NFMLA are proud to partner once again with STARZ for the fifth edition of the STARZ #TakeTheLead Writers’ Intensive, a career-building program designed to champion the next generation of television writers. Through personalized mentorship, industry access, and hands-on development opportunities, the intensive helps emerging storytellers strengthen their craft and bring their creative voices to the forefront.

The Director Incubator

The Netflix x NALIP Director Incubator is a premier career acceleration program designed to support emerging directors in creating bold, original short films that center stories told from the perspective of women, while advancing their careers in the film and television industry. 

Beginning this year, the program will invest more deeply in each selected fellow, awarding four directors with $45,000 production grants to create proof-of-concept short films that meet the demands of today’s evolving independent film landscape. Fellows will also receive individualized guidance, career development opportunities, and the chance to showcase their work to industry leaders.

Open Office Hours is a new initiative designed to expand access to knowledge and mentorship within the entertainment industry. Twice a month, we invite influential professionals across film, television, and media to speak directly with our community, sharing their personal journeys, career insights, and advice on navigating the industry as a Latino creative or executive.
