NALIP supports the 2017 International Conference on Hispanic/Latino Media and Marketing, as it is crucial for Latinos in media, especially scholars to have a platform and further develop their skills. The International Conference on Hispanic/Latino and Marketing originated in 2009 as the Assessing the State of Spanish-Language & Latino-Oriented Media International Conference.

The conference aims to develop skills and provide discussion and examples of effective communication practices that aim to help community leaders to better communicate, relate, and connect with Hispanic populations.  The conference typically covers topics on media, advertising, IMC, marketing communication, public relations, telecommunication policies, media adoption and culture, among others.
The venue for the 2017 conference is California State University Fullerton, in Fullerton California, which is near Anaheim, Disneyland, and the beautiful beaches of Orange County.  The conference is being hosted by the College of Communications, its Latino Communications Initiative and the Maxwell Center for International Communications. On February 16-18, 2017, the venue for this conference will be at California State University Fullerton’s University Conference Center which is located at 800 N. State College Blvd, Fullerton CA 92831.
