Social Media Coordinator Intern

Position Summary:

NALIP (The National Association of Latino Independent Producers) is seeking a Social Media Intern to join its team for the summer! This person will primarily provide administrative and social support for the NALIP Communications team.

The Social Media Intern is responsible for executing the company’s social media strategy, working across various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. This role offers the intern a great hands-on experience with an emerging non-profit organization. NALIP’s mission is to promote, advance, inspire and advocate for Latino and diverse content creators across media. 

The ideal candidate is organized and detail-oriented, enthusiastic about social media and shares a like-minded goal. We're looking for a self-starter with excellent judgement and communication skills.This is a part-time virtual/remote intern position. We are able to offer college credit to eligible students.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Creating and providing content for all our social media outlets

  • Increase following and keep our current followers engaged

  • Manage: Facebook Page, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.

  • Stay abreast with current events, exciting news, photos, infographics, and any other creative opportunities

  • Work with the multimedia and design interns to use stories, photos, and videos to strengthen our marketing efforts, increase our reach, and put together a marketing campaign(s) to raise awareness

  • Entrepreneurial minded individual who is willing work outside of their job description, and treat team members with respect

 QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Be an excellent writer

  • Possess a passion for content development, and be a creative thinker

  • Demonstrate proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint 

  • Be extremely organized and detail-oriented

  • Work independently and collectively with the team

  • Have the ability to define and meet deadlines

  • Share the belief that no task is too big or too small

  • Have a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 1+ years of experience in Social Media Marketing

  • Flexible Schedule; ability to commit at least 3 hours a day, 2 days a week.
