Pixar Reveals All-Latino Voice Cast for 'Coco'
Aside from newcomer Anthony Gonzalez and celebrated Gael García Bernal, it was unclear who else would be joining the cast for Disney/Pixar's upcoming 'Coco.' Well, Disney has just revealed who else will be voicing characters for the new film, and it's quite an impressive list!
Joining the cast and playing lead character Miguel's family are:
- Voicing Miguel's bisabuela is Mexican actress Ana Ofelia Murguía (Escrito en el cuerpo de la noche, La reina de la noche)
- Voicing his abuela is Weeds‘ Lupita, Renée Victor
- Voicing his mom is Sofía Espinosa, who played Gloria Trevi in the 2014 biopic Gloria
- Voicing his dad is Jane the Virgin's Jaime Camil
Disney/Pixar has also recruited Edward James Olmos as a character named Chicharrón, and Gabriel Iglesias to play the part of Head Clerk in the Land of the Dead’s “Department of Family Reunions.” Comedian Cheech Marin will also be lending his voice to play a Corrections Officer in the ghostly Land of the Dead. The rest of the voice cast includes: Herbert Siguenza, Selene Luna, Octavio Solis, Lombardo Boyar, Alanna Ubach, and Blanca Araceli. Watch the trailer for 'Coco' here.
