The Peabody Awards board of jurors has revealed its 60 nominees for the most compelling and empowering stories released in 2018 across TV, radio and digital media.
Thirty winners will be selected from the below nominees in the categories of entertainment, news, documentary, children’s and public service programming. Those honorees will be celebrated at the 78th annual Peabody Awards ceremony, hosted by Ronan Farrow, in New York on May 18. Winners will be announced starting next week.
Notable entertainment nominees are Killing Eve, Pose, and The Good Place.
Steven Canals, co-creator, writer, and co-executive producer of Pose, was a panelist at the 2018 NALIP Media Summit.
A period piece set in the mid-’80s in New York City, “Pose” examines the juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in Manhattan: the emergence of the luxury Trump-era universe, the ball culture world, and downtown social and literary scene. Ryan Murphy co-created the drama with Brad Falchuk and Steven Canals, who will executive produce with Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Alexis Martin Woodall, Sherry Marsh, and Erica Kaye. Janet Mock and Our Lady J will serve as producers.
