Job Type: Part-time contract, 8-10 hours/week (maybe more)

Location: Remote, in the United States

Compensation: $30-$35/hour (or commensurate with experience)

Start Date: Immediate, October 2021

 

Overview

 

We're seeking a part-time contract person to manage our NEA-funded impact work with LOS HERMANOS/THE BROTHERS -- a feature documentary about two Afro-Cuban virtuoso brothers crossing borders for a chance to perform together (Trailer and info at: www.hermanosbrothersfilm.info

 

The film's impact work has two foci: supporting access to music education for all children,and creating opportunities for music institutions to address inequities in the world of classical music -- who gets to play, what music is played, and who is in the audience.

 

We have developed a robust network of contacts and are looking for an organized, reliable, outgoing, self-motivated person ideally with film impact campaign experience. We've already held live and virtual events at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center and are currently streaming on PBS.org (https://www.hermanosbrothersfilm.info/screenings).

 

We prefer someone interested in music, or community organizing experience, but are open to other connections to our story, and particularly encourage people from the communities where we're working to apply.

 

Work will be remote on your own schedule.

Marcia is a consulting producer and runs filmmaker services at the Jewish Film Institute.

Position Summary

The Impact Campaign Manager is responsible for the implementation of the film's impact campaign, nurturing partnerships, supporting community and venue events, and cultivating new opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate community engagement and impact events.
  • Maintaining and cultivate existing relationships with partners, as well as research and develop partnerships.
  • Support the filmmakers in planning and implementing social media, newsletter, website, and other digital marketing assets for films, in collaboration with the filmmakers.
  • Review and develop campaign materials 
  • Provide live event support to by assisting in the planning, organization, execution, and facilitation of live and virtual events.

Skills required

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented
  • Outgoing, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic graphics skills a plus
  • Interest in film impact and the issues explored in the film.
  • Good collaborator
