H Schuster, who has worked for years as an executive and producer in unscripted television, and her company Husslup are spotlighted in this article by the Los Angeles Times. The Los Angeles-based company Husslup is an app to help studios and production companies expand their rosters, and the company is working with a growing roster of firms, including the Russo brothers’ AGBO, Blumhouse Productions and Universal Pictures to find new hires using its platform, which aims to be a LinkedIn for entertainment.

New Filmmakers Los Angeles and Warner Bros. Discovery OneFifty announce NewNarratives

NewFilmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA), supported by Warner Bros. Discovery OneFifty, has returned to present a second year of NewNarratives, a content program built to identify emerging global artists by tapping into NFMLA’s community and extensive pool of artistic talent. The NewNarratives initiative advances, funds and amplifies unique, innovative creators whose narratives, stories, and characters transcend borders and dismantle convention.

NewNarratives seeks to discover original, authentic work with a strong point of view and identify compelling storytelling that speaks to contemporary themes in innovative and resonant ways. Free from any set parameters on theme and genre, episodic or feature film concepts that push convention are at the program’s core.

NewNarratives will award one artist a grant to support the development of a new project. The funded material will also be introduced by OneFifty to the Warner Bros. Discovery family of companies for further development consideration. Program applications will open up to members of NFMLA on August 8th, 2022, with a submission deadline of August 29th, 2022.
