Sundance Institute Announces 10 Producers Lab Fellows, Summit Panelists and Conversations

This week the Sundance Institute announced the producers that will take part in its upcoming Producers Lab. Along with that they also announced the panelists, projects, and advisors participating in their Producers Summit.
The Producers Lab will be taking place on July 25th-29th and the Producers Summit will be from August 2nd-5th. Both events are amazing for people in the entertainment industry especially for producers that are wanting to learn more.

Gucci Joins Sundance Institute Documentary Fund (EXCLUSIVE)

Gucci has joined the Sundance Institute Documentary Fund, in supporting the work of nonfiction filmmakers who continue to advance cultural dialogue and reach new creative heights. This fund will support filmmakers worldwide in the development, production, and post-production process.
Gucci is specifically looking to amplify underrepresented voices from marginalized communities, supporting documentaries that explore issues such as gender equality, racial justice, human rights and environmental sustainability.

Meet the 20 Latino Students who Received the 2021 #LeadingConEducación Program Scholarship

This year TurboTax had launched its #LeadingConEducacion program in which they partnered with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation to support Latino high school seniors and college students around the U.S.
TurboTax and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation are happy and excited to announce that a total of 20 Latino students were selected out of a pool of over 1,000 applicants to receive a $2,500 grant. This rant will go towards their higher education in the upcoming fall semester of their school year.

The African American Film Critics Association on Tuesday set its Special Achievement Honorees to be feted at the third annual AAFCA TV Honors August 21st. Some of the nominees include Steve McQueen, Wanda Sykes, Naomi Ackie, and Michaela Coel.
“We couldn’t be prouder to bestow AAFCA’s highest honors to this remarkable group of honorees responsible for diverse and inclusive content that uplifts and inspires,” said AAFCA president Gil Robertson.

Next Stop, HBO? NewFilmmakers LA and WarnerMedia’s OneFifty Team Talk Ambitious Grant Program

With support from WarnerMedia’s OneFifty division, NewFilmmakers LA has launched its NewNArratives program. The program aims at identifying, funding, and supporting emerging artists and projects from NFMLA’s pool of talent.
The recipient will receive a grant to support the development of a new project over the next year, which will also be introduced by OneFifty to WarnerMedia executives for further development consideration.

AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron to Add Chairman Title

The CEO of AMC Theaters, Adam Aron, will become the chairman of the theaterial giant’s board of directors.Aron is ready to take on the new responsibilities in the wake of the resignation of Wanda executives Lin Zhang and Mao Jun.
Aron has been CEO and president of AMC since 2016, having previously served as CEO of the Philadelphia 76ers and Starwood Hotels.

Call for Entries for Film Projects in Post-Production Stage!
The GuadaLAjara Film Festival (GLAFF) announces the open call for the post-production initiative WIP Latino 6. The program provides support to Latin American and BIPOC filmmakers as they enter editing and/or final post-production stages. WIP LATINO 6 will focus on supporting projects that are created by and/or focus on topics that affect the Latin community such as immigration, migration, human rights, social and political movements, this is also the framework for the 11th edition of the GuadaLAjara Film Festival (GLAFF).
