Ready Set Prep with Catherine Hardwicke
Join Film Fatales on Saturday August 27th at 10am PT for a hands-on workshop with writer/director Catherine Hardwicke (Cabinet of Curiosities, Mafia Mamma, Twilight, Miss Bala, Lords of Dogtown, ThirteenTwilight, Miss Bala, Lords of Dogtown, Thirteen) as she discussed her journey from pre-production to final screening in her MasterClass presentation. Ready Set Prep details Catherine’s preparation process for film and television projects with clips, storyboards, shot lists, rehearsal practices, drawings, and more. With support from community partners Film Independent.

FilmMarket Hub: OPEN CALL FOR THE U.S.!

The FilmMarket Hub has launched the first U.S Online PitchBox. This new virtual pitch event will dedicate itself to discovering high-quality, unproduced features and scripted series!
Selected filmmakers will be matched with leading companies in the industry, such as NBCUniversal, Blum House, Film Nation, Lionsgate, and many more. These creators will then meet with each of the participating executives in one-on-one meetings to pitch their projects.
In addition, the full-service media company Buffalo 8 will award one Film project and one TV project with professional executive producer services (valued at $7,950 each). This will include comprehensive budgeting, scheduling, financial forecasting, and tailored consulting and executive producer support. Furthermore, all the selected projects will be awarded Final Draft screenwriting software (worth $249.99).

DGA Announces Key Dates For Its 75th Annual Awards Show

Starz Teams With NALIP, NFMLA for Development Program for Underrepresented Writers

As part of Starz’s ongoing #TakeTheLead initiative to support inclusion behind the scenes as well as as onscreen, the network is launching a program to train scribes from historically excluded backgrounds in writing for premium cable. The Starz #TakeTheLead Writers’ Intensive is a first-time partnership with the National Association of Latino Independent Producers and NewFilmmakers Los Angeles. Deadline to submit is July 29th.
