NPR and LAist Studios launch Oye, an audio incubator for Latinx creators
NPR
NPR and LAist Studios partnered to launch Oye: The Lab for Latinx Creators. In this six-week virtual workshop, NPR and LAist Studios will work with a small cohort of finalists from across the country to develop new programming centering the Latinx + Latino/a/e experience. Oye participants will receive training, coaching, and resources to develop their pitch and pilot a proof of concept, and a stipend to cover labor and time spent on the project.

Firelight Media Opens the Call for Applicants for 2022 Documentary Lab
Firelight Media has announced the open call for its flagship Documentary Lab, an 18-month fellowship program that supports filmmakers in the U.S. from racially and ethnically underrepresented communities directing their first or second feature-length documentary project. Read more here.

LPB announces its 2022 Production Funding Cycle
Latino Public Broadcasting’s 2022 LPB Funding Cycle is open and they’re accepting applications for three distinct funding initiatives -- the Current Issues Fund (CIF), Public Media Content Fund (PMCF) and Digital Media Fund. LPB is looking for filmmakers with great stories, fresh ideas and strong story-telling skills. LPB is looking to fund a wide variety of projects that celebrate and reflect the diverse Latino experience and bring new audiences to public media. Projects can be long form documentaries for the Public Media Content Fund and the Current Issues Fund, and short form nonfiction or fiction for the Digital Media Fund.
