Ibero-American Film Festival 2021 Hosts First Global 48-HR Mobile Shorts Film Project
Register for the upcoming shorts (up to 8 minutes) film competition, shot and finished on a mobile device. IAFFM’s mission is to empower filmmakers from around the world with their mobile phones for impactful storytelling. Using their mobile phones and turning their communities into their movie-making sets for 48 hours, filmmakers will shoot their short films (up to 8 minutes) based on a theme related to Ibero-America!
The 48-Hour executive producing team will be rolling out resources for shooting, editing and producing the shorts on mobile phones.
Overview:
Filmmakers have a single weekend to write, shoot and edit their short films! All completed entries will be evaluated and winners will be presented at IAFFM’s festival. Register for the competition https://www.iaffm.com/home/48hr-project.html.
Prizes will be awarded to filmmakers who start and finish their film on a mobile device (iPhone, iPad, or another smartphone or tablet is applicable as well).

HBO Max & WarnerMedia Access Launch Animated Shorts Program Spotlighting Underrepresented Talent

HBO Max x WarnerMedia Access has joined forces in creating a six to nine-month Animated Shorts Program. Up to seven artists from underrepresented communities will be provided mentorship and training starting in January. Submissions are opened for those 18 and older and able to work in the U.S. or Canada from October 5-24. For more information check out the link Here.
Sony Pictures Television Launches 2021 Diverse Directors Program

Sony Pictures Television is now taking applications for their 2021 Diverse Directors Program. During this program, participants will get an in-depth education on directing episodic television at Sony Pictures Television. There will also be workshops that feature working directors and entertainment professionals. This year's program begins in January and goes through the Spring. Michael Collyer Memorial Fellowship in Screenwriting Submissions Now Open
The fellowship provides one writer between the ages of 18-25 with mentorship to work on a NEW screenplay for a year along with $10,000. The program is now in its 14th year in partnership with the Writers Guild Initiative and King Family Foundation. At the moment the program is only accepting feature films. Submissions are open until November 19, 2021.

The Morelia International Film Festival Announces It’s 19th Edition
The Morelia International Film Festival has announced that it will be holding a Hybrid six-day festival in compliance with safety regulations. The in-person section of the event will be taking place in the capital of Michoacán. For more information check out the link Here
Documentary Magazine Editorial Fellows Open Call 2021
The International Documentary Association (IDA) has opened applications for its Documentary Magazine Editorial Fellowship Program. This program is dedicated to helping writers from underrepresented and underserved communities. The writers chosen for the program will participate in editorial planning and contributing content for the magazine.

New Writers Fellowship Open
The Coalition of Asian Pacifics In Entertainment has opened their writing fellowship which teaches writers practical and business knowledge in order to succeed in the industry. Over the weeks CAPE brings in different industry professionals and hosts a variety of events. The fellowship is set to take place March through April 2021 there may be hybrid options to the events.
