MIP Cancun Invites NALIP to LA Screening

NALIP members are invited to attend the MIP Cancun Cocktail at the LA Screenings on Wednesday, May 17, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. It will take place at the Intercontinental Los Angeles Century City.

The event celebrates MIP Cancun, a 3-day content market and summit dedicated to TV programming in Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market. It is the only 1-to-1 meeting event for distribution and production executives - meeting a growing demand for international companies looking to do business with their counterparts in Latin America.

Pantelion Renews Deal with Eugenio Derbez' 3Pas Studios

The Lionsgate Entertainment and Grupo Televisa joint venture, Pantelion Films, has renewed its first-look deal with Eugenio Derbez and producing partner Benjamin Odell’s company 3Pas Studios. Derbez has had massive success in the U.S box office for both his movies ‘How to be a Latin Lover’ and ‘Instructions Not Included,’ needless to say the studios recognized the accomplishment.

‘Instructions Not Included,’ was a successful movie for Derbez, making it the highest-grossing Spanish-language film ever released in the United States ($44 million) and the highest-grossing Mexican film in Mexico ($48 Million). The second Pantelion Film partnership with Derbez, ‘How to be a Latin Lover,’ did amazing in the first week of release bringing in 12 million dollars on just 1,118 screens.

 The 2017 Palm Springs International Film Festival is back with a culturally diverse program which features over 200 films from more than 60 countries! This year, 27 movies from Spain, Portugal and Latin America are to be screened as a result of the festival’s Ciné Latino program.

NALIP is proud to announce the finalists for the Shorts Film Program of the second annual Latino Lens Festival and Showcase taking place October 30th at the Avalon Hollywood. After hundreds of submissions and much consideration, NALIP has chosen the four films to be featured during our Shorts Presentation. They are: 'Toyed' by Jorge "Jokes" Yanes, 'Mosca' by Lizette Barrera, 'Disco Inferno' by Alice Waddington and 'Blast Beat' by Esteban Arango.
