Hitting the books is not the only challenge for a college student. As José juggles relationships with friends and family near and far, he is also trying to figure out how to stay in school when financial aid becomes scarce. For him, life is a true balancing act when you are neither from here or from there.

Filmmaker:

Carlos Valdivia is a queer Chicano filmmaker based in NYC. He studied film production at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where he produced award-winning films and secured high profile internships at HBO and the Academy Award-winning Jigsaw Productions. Since graduation, Carlos has worked as a freelance producer and in film and TV distribution. He's produced shorts, music videos, and spots for a variety of clients including Google, TED, Interscope Records, and Vulcan Productions.
