Mitú is excited to premiere their romantic comedy Long Distance , mitu and YouTube Red Partnered to launch the multicultural rom-com for the social media generation. Long Distance is solely produced with Latino leads, writers, producers and a majority of Latino female crew. "If no one else is telling our stories, we will." Mitu feels the responsibility to empower our up and coming creative community to prove to the entertainment industry that Latinos are the present and the future of media!

Over the weekend, NALIPster Gabriela Tagliavini celebrated the dual premiere of “How to Break up with your Douchebag” on October 13th which now reigns #1 in the Mexican Box office and is officially in the “Top 12 Best Premieres in Mexican history” according to @canacine.

Latino and LATAM Films at Toronto International Film Festival

Latino and Latin American films were well-represented at the Toronto International Film Festival ("TIFF"). Asides from well-established films that already garnered mainstream hype, complex and insightful films like Sergio & Sergei by Ernesto and Marta Daranas and Tigre by Silvina Schnicer and Ulises Porra Guardiola.

Daranas' film focuses on the real-life rescue of a Russian cosmonaut stranded in space after the collapse of the Soviet Union. You can read more about the film on Deadline. Schnicer and Guardiola's film Tigre touches on such themes as female loneliness and burdens of the past. Both films fit perfectly in the lineup with other quality films like the following:
