Sundance Institute Announces 2021 Screenwriters Lab Fellows
Fifteen emerging storytellers from Chile, India, Kenya, Tunisia and the U.S. will convene digitally for Sundance Institute’s January Screenwriters Lab, taking place online via Sundance Co//ab from January 11 -15, 2021. One of the selected filmmakers is Cristina Costantini, winner of NALIP’s Best Latinx Film Award at the 2020 Latino Media Fest for her documentary “Mucho Mucho Amor”. Frida Kahlo Corporation, CIC Media And Carlos Baute Developing Series On Iconic Mexican Artist, Joel Novoa To Direct

CIC media is teaming up with the Frida Kahlo Corporation and Carlos Baute to create a drama series following the life of the iconic Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo. The writing teams of Joel Novoa and Marilu Godinez are set to create the series and Novoa, who has worked on “Arrow”, “Blood and Treasure”, and the feature film “God’s Slave”, will be directing. Production of the series is expected to start during the second half of 2021. Read more about this project here.
