Moctesuma Esparza

Moctesuma Esparza is an award-winning filmmaker, veteran producer, entertainment executive, entrepreneur and activist well known for his contributions to the movie industry and creating opportunities for Latinos. He established Maya Cinemas, a growing chain of modern theatre mega-plexes, and Buenavision Cable TV – the first Latino owned cable TV MSO. Moctesuma’s production credits include Gettysburg, Gods and Generals, Price of Glory, Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, Selma Lord Selma, Selena, The Milagro Beanfield War, and Walkout. He founded the L.A. Academy of Arts and Enterprise Charter School, co-founded the Smithsonian Latino Center, NAA, NALIP, and is a founding member of the Cesar Chavez Foundation.
