Manager, Digital Marketing

As a key member of the Digital Marketing team within UMe, the Manager’s position marries strategy with execution across all digital channels for a designated set of projects, from start to successful finish.  The Manager will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and global counterparts, per project as well as with external industry and consumer facing outlets to develop online, social, and mobile opportunities.  In an unconventional approach to catalog priorities, this role will also take on the onus to develop core, genre comprehensive campaigns to elevate and optimize deep catalog titles, tracks, and artists.  The Manager will report directly to the department head for Digital Marketing.

Location: Santa Monica, CA

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Manage and execute all digital initiatives across designated projects, including owned
  media, social media, and earned media programming
- Develop content & tools for campaign success – acute sensibility on how to amplify each
- Manage third party indie agencies and developers, set them up for success,
  and keep within budget
- Develop and deliver creative and effective digital marketing drivers
- Manage and cultivate direct relationships across DSP reps, online editorial, social
  platforms, emerging sites, streaming partners, MCNs, and new technology opportunities
- Leverage those relationships to execute the strongest promotions for relevant
  deep catalog initiatives, not just artist releases
- Foster curation programs for digital partners, surfacing a range of monetized catalog content
- Find and work to clear content holdbacks to facilitate housekeeping across tail
  content and work with Business Affairs to manage approach for audio and
  visual streaming partners – where there’s demand and an impasse to deliver,
  creatively work   out alternative content solutions
- Evaluate and optimize performance against analytics, benchmarks, and conversions
  using industry analysis vendors as well as UMG IP
- Be bold.  Challenge partners, artist camps, and colleagues to be smart and think
  big – pioneer down new promotions
- But don’t forget that the details in housekeeping are a must; you are required
  to have mastered metadata syntax, tagging, cross linking, proper basic html,
  container tagging, etc already
- Dashboard management across different CMS tools, smarturl, Google Analytics,
  Comscore, Soundcloud, YouTube, among others...
- Work closely with Product Management, Commercial Sales, and Strategic Brand
   teams to craft holistic artist, genre, and always-on campaigns and solutions, while
  developing and growing the CRM touch points for overarching branded campaigns

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must live and breathe digital – there’s a lot of work to do, but this is not just “a job”
- 5 years of digital marketing background
- Demonstrated experience in driving successful artist and product campaigns with results
- Strong existing relationships within digital entertainment industry a must
- Knowledge and understanding of tech stacks, development framework, wires,
  SSO technology, container tags, and the like preferred!
