Starting as a successful actress and voice-over artist, Luisa moved into writing as co-writer of the highly successful play, Latins Anonymous, which to date has received over forty-five productions nationwide.
Her first television job was on the acclaimed Nickelodeon show, Brothers Garcia. She enjoyed five seasons on the George Lopez show (122 episodes) rising to Co-Executive Producer. In 2008, Luisa served as Co-EP on Everybody Hates Chris. She worked on one hundred episodes of the TBS series called Are We There Yet? based on Ice-Cube’s hit movie of the same name. Luisa was a Consulting Producer for 26 episodes of Disney Channel’s Austin & Ally. She also enjoyed writing for the second season of Hulu’s original hit series, East Los High. Last year, Luisa made the leap to one-hour on Robert Rodriguez’s series Dusk Till Dawn for El Rey network. Currently, she is Co-Executive Producer on a new series for Amazon, Just Add Magic.
Television pilots: CBS: Lorenzo’s Wife – one hour. Escorts, ½ hour sitcom and The Golden Bone – a sitcom set in a five-star hotel for dogs. NBC: Dirty Girl – one hour dramedy. Fox Studios: Mambo Palace, a half-hour single cam set in an East Harlem dance studio.
