The NALIP LATINO LENS Filmmaker Showcase presented in partnership with Time Warner Foundation, El Rey Network, Univision, WORLD Channel, LA Department of Cultural Affairs, National Endowment for the Arts, California Arts Council, Los Angeles County Arts Commission and Texican Media in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month and as an official part of the City of Los Angeles’ Latino Heritage LA.
It will feature industry and film screenings culminating with an Exclusive After-Party Event including DJs, live musical performances and special guests. The event will showcase rising Latino filmmakers and creatives who represent the front line in improving diversity of participation and cultural representation in entertainment.
Select films and their creators from the Showcase will be featured on the El Rey Network throughout Hispanic Heritage Month. NALIP's Latino Lens incubation program is supported by Time Warner Foundation.
Luis Guzmán to Receive Latino Lens Legacy Award
NALIP is honored to present the Latino Lens Legacy Award to Luis Guzmán in recognition of his extensive body of work in entertainment that continues to inspire Latino creatives in front and behind the camera. He has defined every character he has stepped into, whether the sidekick or lead, truly applying a creative perspective that we recognize as the “Latino Lens”. Join us in honoring Luis Guzmán at the Latino Lens Filmmaker Showcase as he receives this special award, October 18 at the Avalon Hollywood!

Exclusive Special Showcase of NALIP Member Film "La Granja"
NALIP is thrilled to present a special feature of the work in progress film "La Granja" at the Latino Lens Filmmaker Showcase, October 18 at the Avalon Hollywood - "a powerful project, from a supremely talented filmmaker that exemplifies the creative force behind the NALIP's Latino Lens programming" said NALIP Executive Director Axel Caballero. "This is the power of our incubation program and the Latino Lens Filmmaker Showcase, featuring the work of talented professionals that are pushing the creative boundaries across media. We are also thrilled to specially highlight Puerto Rican creative talent in honoring legendary actor Luis Guzmán with the Latino Lens Legacy Award and featuring "La Granja" by Puerto Rican extraordinaire Angel Manuel Soto. Ours is a rich community of Latino creators from all backgrounds, this showcase represents the talent across the board".
