2018 Emerging Content Creator Workshop Internship

DESCRIPTION

The selected intern will become part of the NALIP Media Summit team and assist in coordinating, developing, and production of the Emerging Content Creator Workshop a dedicated workshop held during the annual NALIP Media Summit. The selected intern will strategize the appropriate outreach techniques for mentors, speakers and ECCW scholars. The workshop is geared to empower strong creatives starting out in the entertainment industry.

QUALIFICATIONS

Intern will demonstrate strong interest in the entertainment industry including television, independent film, scripted and digital media. Strong communication and computer skills. Knowledge and versatility of technology apps, post-production software and database management is highly desired but not required. Able to multitask and take on different responsibilities in a fast paced environment. Self motivated, takes initiative, organized, and detail oriented skills required.

Latino Media Market Programs Internship

DESCRIPTION

The selected intern will assist the NALIP Media Summit and Latino Media Market (LMM) team develop and produce the 2018 LMM and Access Programs. Concurrent with the annual NALIP Media Summit, the Latino Media Market is a professional meeting series designed to bring NALIP members and their projects together with funders, studio executives, distributors, broadcasters, and employers. The intern will conduct ongoing outreach to sister organizations and industry network, film markets and festivals, etc. to identify potential executives. In addition, intern will assist with LMM social media outreach, including updates and timelines for the program via the NALIP website and newsletter.

ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

NALIP's mission is to promote, advance and advocate for Latino content creators across media. For over 18 years it has been addressing the professional needs of Latino content creators and independent media artists in film and television, documentary and digital. NALIP works to strengthen and multiply the quality and quantity of images by and about Latinos while providing support for advanced, mid-career professionals as well as emerging producers, actors, writers, directors, and students.

STUDENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Student eligibility for internship positions is limited to currently enrolled undergraduate (2- or 4-year) college students who reside or attend college in Los Angeles County. Students must have completed at least one semester of college by June 1, 2018 or will complete their undergraduate degree between May 1 - September 1, 2018 in order to be eligible to participate.  Students who have already earned a BA, BS or a higher degree are not eligible. Students who have previously participated in the Los Angeles County Arts Internship Program are not eligible to participate a second time.

Students invited to participate in the program must provide a copy of their college transcripts, student ID and driver’s license, if available, to verify undergraduate enrollment or recent graduation and LA County residence.

PERMANENT RESIDENCY

Permanent residency means this is where you live when you are not attending school.  For example, you went to high school in Los Angeles County, your parents live in Los Angeles County, and when you go home for the holidays or over the summer, “home” is Los Angeles County.  A Los Angeles County address is listed on your school transcripts and a Los Angeles County address is what appears on your driver license.  If you are unsure of whether your home is within Los Angeles County, please visit: http://lavote.net/district/

Candidates are sought from all areas of undergraduate study and are not required to have demonstrated a previous commitment to the arts. All college students of any ethnic background who meet the residence and attendance criteria are eligible to apply to participate in the Los Angeles County Arts Internship Program.

Students must either reside in Los Angeles County or attend school in Los Angeles County.
