From the Heart Productions, the non-profit dedicated to helping filmmakers get their films funded, announces the fall return of its unique and innovative Intentional Filmmaker Class. The class gives filmmakers the tools and belief in themselves they need to raise money for their projects. New sessions begin September 28th with special discounts available for NALIP members. The discount code is: NALIP

The class is a pair of 5 month on-line courses combining mentoring and manifesting for film funding success. Carole Dean, author of the best-selling “The Art of Film Funding: Alternative Financing Concepts” and “The Art of Manifesting” teaches the Trailblazer Class for short and documentary filmmakers.  Tom Malloy, author of “Bankroll: A New Approach to Financing Feature Films” joins her in the Mastermind Class for feature filmmakers.

“Take it!” said writer/director and recent grad Betsy Blankenbaker. “ It’s like getting a Masters degree in filmmaking while using everything from Quantum Physics to Spiritual tools to help get your film funded and produced.“

This year Bienvenida Matias joins the Trailblazer Class as a Documentary Mentor. A Puerto Rican filmmaker, educator, and media advocate, she has extensively produced and directed documentaries independently, for public television and nonprofits. Beni will work closely with Carole Dean in assessing program participants on their pitches, proposals and budgets. She is the former acting executive director of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP)

Some highlights of what is included in the class:

  • 5 one-on-one consultations (one each month) with Carole Dean ($725.00 value if purchased outside the class).

  • 10 class meetings (two each month). 6 month goal planning with action list targeted to raise money.

  • Documentary filmmakers will get help writing their proposals with emphasis on what is needed to win grants and get donations.

  • Fine tuning their trailer to bring in money.

  • Perfecting their pitch to attract investors.

  • Running a successful crowdfunding campaign

Filmmakers are also given a 10 page outline on funding, marketing, and distributing their film. They get the template, customize it for their project and are helped to complete it. This becomes a major item to close donors.

When the class is over, filmmaker’s will have an excellent proposal, trailer, pitch and know how special they are and their film.
