New York Emmy Nominations: News 12 Dominates Field; Telemundo & Univision Outlets Top All Others

‘Lost Ollie’: Netflix Limited Series Featuring Mary J. Blige, Jonathan Groff & Gina Rodriguez Premieres in August

The Netflix limited series, "Lost Ollie, is an epic adventure about a lost toy who braves the many dangers of childhood as he searches the countryside to reunite with the boy who lost him; and the story of the boy who lost more than a best friend." Directors Guild Of Canada Finds People Of Color “Significantly Underrepresented” Among Its Members

Standing as the first of its kind, the Directors Guild of Canada has conducted a "membership-wide voluntary self-identification questionnaire" for the film & television industry." The survey was done to fulfill the five main core commitments laid out in the BIPOC Members Committee Action Plan. The Directors Guild of Canada found that people of color account for only 18.3% of the more than 3,000 members.

 

According to the report, BIPOC make up 26%-27% of the Canadian population.

Black members accounted for only 2.5% of the members surveyed.

Latin American members accounted for only 2.1% of the members surveyed.

TelevisaUnivision Streaming Service Vix+ Sets Subscription Price, Launch Date

TelevisaUnivision will launch its streaming platform on July 21st. Vix+ will have a monthly price of $6.99 in the U.S & MX$199 in Mexico. Believing that Spanish-speaking streaming audiences are underserved, Vix+ promises to deliver original premium content meant for the underserved community.
