‘More’: Ana Ortiz To Star In HBO Max Drama Pilot After Recasting

Ana Ortiz, known for her roles in "Ugly Betty" and "Love, Victor" is finalizing a deal with HBO Max to lead "More." She will be replacing Veronica Falcón, who unfortunately did not make it past the table read.. "More" is about a Latine family who is lead by the mom.

California’s Film Incentives Program Sees Growth In Jobs & Production Spending, But “Lack Of Available Funds” Still Leads Many Projects To Flee The State

According to the California Film Commission, films and TV productions that applied for the California tax credits from 2020-2022 were denied because of lack of funds spent almost $1 billion outside the state. California currently offers $420 million a year in film incentives but so does New York and they has a smaller film industry. Georgia, on the other hand gave $1.2 billion last year. Does California need to revamp their film incentive program?

Eric Christian Olsen’s Cloud Nine Sells 4 Projects To CBS Including Family Latinx Comedy Headlined By Al Madrigal

Eric Christian Olsen’s Cloud Nine Productions (Woke) has sold four projects at CBS, one of them headlined by Al Madrigal. The project is called "Family Insurance," a single-camera Latine family comedy co-written by Ryan Walls and Al Madrigal. Al Madrigal will be wearing many hats as the writer, executive producer, and star of the show. There was another comedy project sold and two dramas.

Melissa Barrera-Led Supernatural Thriller ‘Bed Rest’ Acquired By Tubi

Tubi got exclusive U.S. streaming rights ti the supernatural thriller "Bed Rest" from STXfilms and Project X Entertainment. It will debut on the platform on December 7th and it stars Melissa Barrera. The film follows pregnant Julie Rivers as she is haunted during her mandated bed rest.
