Oscars 2023 Diversity Report: Asian Actors Make History in Nominations

This year, we saw a more diverse list of nominees, but there is still a lot of progress to be made. Big wins goes to seeing the most nominees going to Asian Actors. Five out of ten nominations for leading or supporting actress are women of color, one of them being Latine, Ana de Armas.

George R.R. Martin Novel with Latino Lead Getting Film Adaptation

George R.R. Martin, creator of "Game of Thrones" and "House of the Dragon," wrote a novel in 2007 titled "Hunter's Run" has a Latine character as its main protagonist. The novel is now being adapted into a film by Exile Content Studio. It'll be directed by Mark Raso.

Benicio del Toro to Receive Honorary Award for For His Representation

Benicio del Toro, known for "Traffic," will be receiving an Honorary Award PLATINO Award at the 10th Edition of Premios PLATINO gala on April 22 in Spain. During the ceremony, awards will also be given to the best Ibero-American films in various categories.

Aubrey Plaza Draws Season 48 Demo Rating High For ‘Saturday Night Live’

The January 21 SNL episode received the highest advertiser friendly rating in the season, the episode hosted by Aubrey Plaza received a 0.98 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Also drawing 4.8 million viewers and bringing up 13% viewers from the fourth quarter average.

Sony Pictures TV to Distribute ‘Señoras’ by New Mexican Production Company, Ellas Cuatro

Sony Pictures TV Latin America got the worldwide distribution rights to "Señora," a TV series from a new Mexican production, Ellas Cuatro.  Ellas Cuarto was co-founded by Esmeralda Pimentel (“No Man’s Land’), Ela Velden (“Who Killed Sara?”), Frida Astrid (“Bardo”) and Gabriela Marcos Payton (“How to Survive Being Single”).
