NALIP presents an eclectic group of rising comedians and young sketch actors in the first LATINO STATE OF COMEDY Showcase, produced by Payaso Entertainment, LATV and CBS.  Come on down to an all-talent evening on Saturday, March 8.  Start with a networking reception that includes top talent, executives, filmmakers and NALIPsters.  Then laugh all night with L.A. comedy favorites Joey Medina (“Morning Invasion” on Latino Radio 96.3), Juan García (“Loco Comedy Jam”), and Rick Ramos (the Laugh Factory) along with break out stars like Cory Fernandez from HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, Kiki Melendez of Hot Tamales Live!, Sandra Valls from “Original Latin Divas of Comedy,” and José Velasquez, a regular at the Ice House. Each brings a unique brand of comedy to the showcase which is hosted by Rick Najera of LATV, and includes sketch artists Leila Arias (ROUNDING THIRD), Roxann Ortega (MISS CONGENIALITY) and Marques Ray (MTV’s “Nick Cannon Presents:  Short Circuitz”).

Immediately following the comedy showcase, NALIP rolls in to a hot rock Latin Music Showcase hosted by BMI, Gibson and Peer Music.  Come down to dance to Ceci Bastida, Gustavo Albert, Abie Tobier and the East LA band Upground, followed by the spins of DJ Henry V

New NALIP member Louis Rodriguez recently worked the OSCARS as a live cameraman for ABC News Good Morning America. He had the pleasure of working with Mr. Bill Weir, previous local LA on-air talent at KABC. “They pulled the protective plastic cover off the Red Carpet early Sunday morning and we were the FIRST ones to step onto it, to position ourselves at the base of the grand staircase”, says Louis.

Mr. Rodriguez owns Ablaze Productions in Huntington Beach, Ca., a full service visual production company with emphasis in EFP/ENG camera, sound, and lighting.
