Conference Scholarship Opportunities for NALIP Members

The New Now: Defining the Future Together
APRIL 15 - 17 in Newport Beach, CA

Scholarship Applications due March 4, 2011 (Travel) and March 22, 2011 (Hotel)!

Things are looking up, but we are all careful with our travel and professional training budgets. Good news: The New Now conference is a great value! Sponsors help us to keep registration fees low - Early Bird rates are 1/6 of the actual cost of this event. And no prices have gone up this year. Be sure to sign up prior to February 25 for the very best price.

Other funders want to be sure that emerging filmmakers attend this high-level professional gathering, and stay at the conference hotel. So NALIP is pleased to offer Two Types of Scholarship Support to The New Now conference.

Available only to NALIP, AFTRA and SAG members who are already registered for the conference, The New Now Travel and Hotel scholarships offer a stipend towards your travel and/or a free shared room night at the Conference Hotel.

TRAVEL SCHOLARSHIP: These are travel stipends to help support your attendance and journey to Newport Beach. $100 stipends for grantees living west of the Rockies, but not in California; $150 for grantees living east of the Rockies, including the Caribbean. Please note: recipients are responsible for their own registration fees and travel arrangements. Application deadline is March 4, 2011. Grantees will be notified by March 16, 2011 and stipends are distributed when you arrive at conference check-in.

HOTEL SCHOLARSHIP: NALIP will pay for ONE night's lodging (Saturday April 16) for groups of 2 and 3 applicants, rooming together. Applicant(s) will be responsible for their portion of the room rate for any night(s) prior to or after April 16, and any incidental charges. Scholarship recipients must agree to a minimum two night stay, Friday and Saturday, but may also reserve for other nights if desired. (Double guest rooms available at $75.00/night per person + tax; Triples at $50.00/night per person + tax). Application deadline is March 22, 2011.

Reservations will be made on your behalf if you are accepted for this hotel scholarship; we notify you very soon after application, so jump on this. Spaces are limited! NALIP can group you or you may group yourself. Please check the conference and pre-conference schedule before confirming your travel and hotel arrangements.

For assistance contacting potential roommates, post a topic on NALIP's Facebook page! You may apply for both Scholarships: you might be granted one, the other, or both. Limited numbers of these scholarships are available. Priority will be given to NEW conference attendees and STUDENT applicants, as well as Chapter leaders, but we encourage everyone to apply.

Don't miss out! Visit to register, read more under Conference Info / Scholarships, and apply online!
