Somos Productions, Boomdog TV, and Piñónlywood Studios are producing along with Endemol Shine Latino a new scripted drama series based on the popular Puerto Rican boy band Menudo. The series will be called "Súbete a Mi Moto - The History of Menudo", based off the title of one of their most popular hits from 1981, and will focus on the creation and rise of the popular band.
The band was started in the 1970's by Edgardo Díaz and had a run of over 30 years. It helped launch the careers of singers Ricky Martin and Draco Rosa, and achieved worldwide fame on par with the Jackson Five and the Beetles.
The series is currently being shopped by Somos Distribution and Endemic Shine Latino to possible networks and platforms. Some former band members are also in talks to possibly collaborate with the show as well.
