Disney to Participate in 2017 NALIP Media Summit

Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar and Disney ABC Television Group ,to Conduct an Animation Master Class and Latinos in TV Animation Panel at the 2017 NALIP Media Summit
LOS ANGELES - As sponsor of the 2017 NALIP Media Summit, the Walt Disney Company and its affiliates will participate in the programming of the nation’s largest gatherings of Latinos in Media nationwide.
Walt Disney Animation Studios (WDAS) and Pixar Animation Studios will bring together Moana Producer Osnat Shurer, Cars 3 Co-Producer Andrea Warren and Coco Co-Director Adrian Molina to host an Animation Master Class on Saturday, June 24, 2017. Attendees will listen to the creative masterminds behind some of WDAS and Pixar’s most celebrated films, as they discuss how they create unique, yet universal stories that are relatable to audiences worldwide. Shurer, Warren and Molina will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the making of an animated feature, utilizing their unique perspectives to highlight what the creative process is like.
On Friday, June 23, 2017 Disney/ABC Television Group will bring together top Latino writers, producers and artists from across Disney Television Animation to participate in the Media Summit’s “Latinos in TV Animation” panel. Silvia Olivas, Co-Producer and Story Editor of Elena of Avalor, will moderate the session with panelists: Francisco Angones, Co-Producer and Story Editor of Disney XD's all-new DuckTales series; Pilar Flynn, Producer on Elena of Avalor; Illya Owens, Lead Editor of the Emmy Award-winning Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts; and Jose Zelaya, Character Designer on two of Disney Junior's biggest hit shows “Mickey and the Roadster Races” and “The Lion Guard.” They will discuss the process of creating an animated series and the variety of career opportunities in television animation. Attendees will receive great insight as to what contributes to Disney’s success as an industry leader in the production of quality animated properties for television.
The largest annual gathering of Latinos in media nationwide, the NALIP Media Summit (June 22-25, 2017) is hosted by the National Association of Latino Independent Producers. The Summit attracts Latino content creators, industry executives and media from around the globe for four days of panels, workshops, screenings, showcases and invaluable networking opportunities.
