Vice President, Diversity and Inclusion - CBS Corporation
Barbara Matos is Vice President, Diversity and Inclusion, CBS Corporation. She reports to the Executive Vice President & Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer.
Matos engages with diverse partners and local and national advocacy groups to enhance outreach. She manages the CBS Diversity Institute Workshops and works closely on the CBS Diversity Comedy Showcase. Barbara Chairs RAD, the CBS Diversity Employee Resource Group, and serves as Executive Sponsor of the CBS Women’s Networking Group. She is a critical strategic partner on the development of the CBS Corporation Diversity Council on both the East and West coasts. Matos is an active member of the CBS Corporation Volunteer Committee. She is, and has been, an integral component in the initiation of the wide range of diversity efforts at CBS.
Matos has been at CBS since May 1995 when she joined CBS International, Business Affairs. In 2000 Matos, together with the SVP, Diversity, developed the Diversity Department at CBS. In 2009 she was promoted to Manager, Diversity and in 2013 she was promoted to Director, Diversity. Before joining CBS, Matos was a paralegal at Mahler & Harris, P.C. and a registered Interpreter with the U.S. Department of Justice (1987-1995). Prior to that, she was a paralegal with Gersowitz & Libo, Esqs., where she also managed the day to day operations of the firm (1986-1987).
Matos is a graduate of St. John’s University. She serves on the Advisory Committee of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) Diverse Women in Media Initiative. She is an Advisory Board member of Arts for a Better Tomorrow and serves on the Lenox Hill Hospital Women's Health Council. Matos also served as a Big Sister in Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City and continues to be involved with the organization. Matos was among the 2016 and 2017 honorees of the Imagen Foundation Powerful and Influential Latinos in Entertainment.
