The University of Texas at Austin Department of Radio-Television-Film seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Associate or Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2017.  Applicants must have significant credits and professional experience in narrative film/television/video directing, production, or related areas of expertise, with a strong emphasis on multi-cultural narrative subjects, areas meant to increase diversity in both our curriculum and in our students’ production work.

The RTF department offers a broad range of courses in production, screenwriting and media studies leading to the B.S., M.A., M.F.A, and Ph.D. degrees. RTF is one of few departments or schools in the country that is consistently ranked as a top ten program in both production and screenwriting and media studies. RTF also has the benefit of innovative collaborations across the Moody College of Communication, one of the largest, most comprehensive communication colleges in the country. Qualifications

Candidates must have a strong record of teaching at the university level and supervising student production, while also having significant credits and experience as a professional filmmaker.  A terminal degree (MFA or PhD) is strongly preferred.
