Deadline Approaching: CineFestival 2013

CineFestival en San Antonio, the nation's original and longest-running national and international Latino film festival is now accepting official 2013 entries. As a significant event among U.S. film festivals CineFestival presents the work of emerging and established filmmakers, showcasing the breadth and diversity of the Chicano/Latino experience in four categories: Narrative Feature, Short, Documentary and Emerging Artist.

The CineFestival call for entries' early deadline is 5 p.m. CST Friday, October 5, 2012.  The fee for each early entry is $25 for non-students and $15 for students.  The final deadline for entries is 5 p.m. CST Friday, October 26, 2012 and the fee for each October 26th entry is $30 for non-students and $20 for students. Filmmakers will be notified by January 7, 2013.

The 35th Annual CineFestival en San Antonio will be held February 23 through March 2, 2013 at the historic Guadalupe Theater, 1301 Guadalupe Street. The eight-day event will feature national and international film screenings, Q&A sessions, panel and informal discussions, networking opportunities, awards dinner gala, and involvement by youth filmmakers on a special screening night dedicated to San Antonio talent.

Since its inception, CineFestival formally celebrates the year's Best Narrative Feature, Best Short, Best Documentary, and Emerging Artist at the annual dinner gala & Premio Mesquite Awards Ceremony. Other prestigious honors given include the Special Jury Award and the Emma Tenayuca Award for Activism in Media.
