The University of Texas at Austin Department of Radio-‐‑Television-‐‑Film seeks applicants for an open rank tenure-track or tenured faculty position to begin Fall 2020. Applicants must have significant credits and professional experience in narrative or documentary film/television/video directing and production, with a strong emphasis on Latinx-related subjects, to increase the diversity of our curriculum and our students’ mentored production work. The ability to teach courses in editing and post-production is desirable but not required.
The RTF department offers a broad range of courses in production, screenwriting and media studies leading to the B.S., M.A., M.F.A, and Ph.D. degrees. RTF is one of few departments or schools in the country that is consistently ranked as a top ten program in both production and screenwriting and media studies. RTF also has the benefit of innovative collaborations across the Moody College of Communication, one of the largest, most comprehensive communication colleges in the country.

Qualifications
Candidates should have a strong record of teaching at the university level and supervising student production, while also having significant credits and experience as a professional filmmaker. A terminal degree (MFA or PhD) is strongly preferred.
