The Social Media Editor will develop, implement and promote social media campaigns in an effort to promote online, mobile app and linear TV viewership, increase viewer engagement and brand loyalty, and drive traffic to WNET station sites. Examples include thirteen.org, wliw.org and njtvonline.org and PBS national sites like Nature (www.pbs.org/nature), American Masters (www.pbs.org/americanmasters) and Great Performances (www.pbs.org/gperf). In addition, the Social Media Editor acts as the analytics and SEO lead within the organization. S/he is responsible for measuring and analyzing website, mobile app and social media performance, as well as suggesting SEO improvements on all of our sites.
Qualified candidates will have a BA/BS or equivalent experience and a minimum of 3 (three) years demonstrated experience managing multiple brands on a variety of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Tumblr, Instagram, etc.). Experience with paid social media advertising and a detailed understanding of measuring results, generating analytics reports and applying web/mobile insights to inform the work of web producers, editors and production teams to increase growth on digital platforms and institute best practices is also required. Additional skills include:
- Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to present ideas and information clearly.
- Collaborative team player able to integrate with a diverse team full of opinions and ideas.
- Strong writing and editing skills
