As part of our recent reorganization of NALIP-New York, a new approach to our monthly meetings, as well as a new policy item (actually an old one that we will finally fully enforce, in all fairness to our vested members), has been enacted. Please read these carefully below.
THE APPROACH: Our local membership meetings will be reserved for inviting guest speakers from the industry and media-related organizations to share with us their wealth of information and insight into their respective fields. Our monthly meetings will also be utilized for member networking and informational sessions. The bulk of the chapter's business will be conducted in the organization's respective Committees.
THE POLICY: Beginning with the October 27, 2004 membership meeting, only paid members will be allowed to attend meetings and take advantage of member benefits. We will, however, continue to allow a first time "+ Plus 1" guest wishing to attend one (1) meeting, on an "exploratory" basis, to do so in order to allow for an assessment of whether NALIP is the right nest for them. We are nothing if not fair.
From time to time, however, meetings may be designated as "MEMBER EXCLUSIVE." This is done to allow paid membership the best possible chance of attending meetings and/or events which are seen as being a BIG draw in terms of attendance. This designation supersedes the first time "+ Plus 1" courtesy. Such designations will clearly be announced in the meeting RSVP requests and on this website.
If you have not yet become a member of NALIP, please take a moment and look at the all the benefits membership affords.
