Media Summit Assistant Coordinator @ NALIP

Assist with a variety of daily activities and work directly with Media Summit Coordinator to manage/coordinate Media Summit.

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Dates: March-June 2015

Compensation: $450/Week

Mission/Environment: The National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) is a national membership organization, committed to helping Latino and Latina media makers with their professional goals.  We seek to increase the quality and quantity of stories by and about Latinos, through professional development, community building, and mentoring.

Overall Job Description:  Assist with a variety of daily activities and work directly with Media Summit Coordinator to manage/coordinate Media Summit.

Duties and Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the Media Summit Assistant coordinator include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee preparation of Media Summit program

  • Provides event coordination and planning support

  • Edits and proofs printed materials related to Media Summit

  • Support Media Summit Coordinator

  • Deliver fast, friendly and efficient customer service to Media Summit participants

  • Works with assigned Executive, Director, Manager, and Organizers to plan Summit

  • Maintains Media Summit files along with Data Management of information

  • Edits and proofs printed materials related to Media Summit

  • Assist  all meeting, venue, on and off-site logistics for the Media Summit

  • Oversee speakers, room set‐up, audio visual, transportation, hotel, food and beverage, BEOs, etc.

  • Assist in all other Media Summit areas as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based, new business environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills

  • Extremely organized and take direction as well as initiative

  • Ability to prioritize and delegate in high stress situations

  • Excellent problem solving skills and patience

  • Knowledge of graphic design, including use of Adobe Create Suite

  • Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and database management

  • Extensive customer service experience

  • Proven ability to perform and succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic and deadline driven environment

  • Availability to work evenings and weekends
