Jose M. Mayorquin


Jose M. Mayorquin is a three-time Emmy Award-winning producer and storyteller with over 12 years of production experience.  He joined KABC-TV, the ABC-owned television station in Los Angeles, in 2002.  He is currently responsible for developing, producing, writing and directing local shows, including Eye on L.A., a lifestyle and entertainment program and Vista L.A., the longest-running news magazine program devoted solely to Southern California’s dynamic Latino community.  He also produces Eyewitness News specials and nationally-syndicated shows broadcasting live from the red carpet at the Academy Awards and the American Music Awards.  As an independent producer, Jose has worked on documentaries, commercials, public service announcements, short films, music videos and reality programming.  He is a graduate of UC Berkeley and has studied at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in Mexico City.  He is a board member of the Adelante Youth Alliance, co-founded the Adelante Young Men (AYM) Conference and co-founded the Southeast L.A. High School Student Film Festival.  Jose has also earned four Imagen Awards for his work on Vista L.A.
