Program managers help lead the creative concept and development of national digital fundraising and marketing initiatives. Outbound Team Traffic Manager for Obama For America (Chicago)
Obama for America is seeking a Traffic Manager to join our Outbound team, which is responsible for the copywriting and strategy of our national email and mobile programs as well as our social, blog, and microsite content. Our Traffic Manager’s role on the team will be to make sure the proverbial trains run on time: planning and tracking the production of components of projects and making sure we’re getting them done and approved on deadline. Our ideal candidate will be extremely organized, process-oriented, and have experience setting timelines and securing assets. You’ll also have an understanding of the workflow of an online campaign team and experience working with editorial and creative programs.

Writer for Action-Thriller Independent Feature
An independent film and television company is looking for a Latino screenwriter for an upcoming action-thriller project in the vein of "Machete." There is pay (see below) but the project is non-WGA signatory.
Please reply including your credits and/or experience and I will send you a release form for a writing sample. A feature-length writing sample will be required, and while produced credits are preferred, they are not essential. Please note that the rate includes all drafts and polishes as needed. We have a June/July start date so we need to start moving quickly.
The rate is $2500. Our typical pay structure is $500 upon delivery of the screenplay and the balance upon start of production. I would like to stress that we do not develop projects we don't intend to produce. If we decide to proceed, we will provide you with one to two page synopsis of the story and start with a beat sheet before moving on to the script stage.
Getty Multicultural Undergraduate Internships at the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center
Preservation and Research
We are seeking one intern to work on arts-related archival preservation and access through the CSRC Library. The intern will work under the supervision of CSRC Librarian/Archivist Lizette Guerra and CSRC Archives Manager Michael Stone. The internship will expose the intern to all aspects of archival processing, research, and the registrar processes. Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Processing and documenting Chicano arts materials according to professional archival standards adopted by the CSRC, including materials donated to the CSRC following exhibitions that were part of the Getty Foundation’s Pacific Standard Time Initiative.
- Arranging and describing image heavy collections.
- Upload digitized photographs and arts images onto the UCLA Digital Library.
- Attaching metadata to digital objects
- Using Encoded Archival Description (EAD), create finding aids for collections.
This internship will expose interns to all aspects of archival processing, research, and the registrar processes. Interns will work on the following projects: digital resource management of The Gronk Collection, inventory, arrangement, and digitization of poster collection. The Archive is conveniently located on the UCLA campus. It has spacious and bright processing areas, climate controlled storage areas, and access to a comprehensive digital asset management system maintained by the UCLA Digital Library. Publications and Programs
We are seeking one intern to provide assistance with communications and programmatic activities related to the A Ver: Revisioning Art History book series. This series explores the cultural, aesthetic, and historical contributions of Chicano, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Dominican, and other U.S. Latino artists. Interns will gain career-relevant experience in the area of publications, public programs, as well as enhance their communications and development skills through contact with artists, curators, and museums. The intern responsibilities will include assisting in compiling and reviewing artist biographies and selected bibliographies, corresponding with artists about exhibition histories and the art program, collecting images for each artist, and researching credit information for images. Interns will work under the supervision and guidance of the CSRC Director and Senior Editor for a period of ten weeks. Animation Artist for Downtown Film Fest LA Commercial Spot
The Downtown Film Festival Los Angeles is currently looking for an animation artist to assist in the production of the official Downtown Film Festival Los Angeles Trailer to be screened through this year’s film festival July 6th – 13th, 2012. Additionally, we are interested in working with other mainstream content producers to create various commercial spots for our festival.
PROJECT DISCRIPTION
The Downtown Film Festival Los Angeles is producing its official film festival trailer to be used in all marketing collateral. This 30 second animation will be featured as the official festival trailer that will be seen by thousands of film festival attendees. The trailer will be presented prior to each screening program throughout the entire 8 day film festival. Additionally, it will broadcast on television in a nationwide campaign in millions of homes. Aside from the television campaign the project will be featured on all our social networking sites and massive viral marketing campaign. The script has already been written and is ready to go into production.
COMPENSATION
We are pleased to provide a great opportunity for students or recent graduates to get exposure to other film industry executives. This is a volunteer program for someone that can see the value in networking among over 3,000 film industry professionals. Although we cannot offer monetary compensation we can offer the animation artist and/or producer a credit on a project that will actually air on television. Also, we can provide filmmakers a VIP pass to attend the film festival in July. That’s a $300 value. VIP Pass holders gain access to all festival activities including opening and closing night galas, all film screening programs, panel discussions, private networking parties and more. Additionally, filmmakers will be on a team with other seasoned filmmakers. Some of them work within the studio system and have had projects presented at most of the prestigious film festivals around the world such as Festival De Cannes in France, Tribeca in New York and AFI Fest in Hollywood, CA. Members of our production team also work for film festivals such as Sundance, Tribeca and many others across the country. For the right person, this can provide a tremendous networking opportunity within a circle of working professionals.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Producer works with the Senior Producer to produce national broadcasts on NPR for StoryCorps’ special initiatives, as well as audio for internal and promotional use at StoryCorps. The Producer will function as an active and engaged member of StoryCorps’ Production Department, who produce our weekly NPR broadcasts, our weekly podcast, and other audio content. The Producer is also responsible for editing staff and interns.
StoryCorps tells stories from an inclusive range of American voices — from our Griot Initiative to preserve stories of African Americans, to our Historias Initiative to collect the life experiences of Latinos. Candidates with work experience in and knowledge of diverse communities are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience producing content representative of diverse voices, for diverse audiences, is strongly preferred.
