Lorena Manriquez Receives California Documentary Project Award


NALIP member Lorena Manriquez has received a production California Documentary Project award from Cal Humanities (formerly California Council for the Humanities) for her film Siqueiros: Walls of Passion (LMM 2011). NALIP member Miguel Picker will be collaborating with Lorena on the project.

The documentary film and transmedia project tells the story of Mexican muralist David Alfaro Siqueiros, his worldwide legacy, and the resurrection of his controversial Los Angeles mural, "America Tropical", located at the birthplace of Los Angeles on Olvera Street. Click here for more information.
