The Gala Awards will be held on Saturday, February 28th, 2004. We will begin with a 7:00PM cocktail reception with music by Mariachi Nuevo Jalisco, followed at 8:00PM by dinner and the gala awards ceremony. Following the ceremony we will have a live performance by Johnny Polanco Y Su Conjunto Amistad. (http://www.johnnypolanco.net)

This year NALIP will award Outstanding Achievement in Producing to Salma Hayek (FRIDA), Pioneer Achievement in Producing to Aida Barrera (CARRASCOLENDAS) and Achievement in Advocacy to Richie Perez (Media Advocate & Former Young Lord).

This year’s presenters include Jesse Borrego presenting to Ms. Hayek and Hector Galan presenting to Ms. Barrera.

NALIP will also present a 5 year reel showcasing works and accomplishments from the past five years of NALIP and its members, along with a tribute reel memoriam to Nosotros Founder, Carlos Rivas.
