OPEN CALLS FOR LATINO TALENT BY TOP HOLLYWOOD CASTING DIRECTORS AND REPRESENTATIVES

FREE PRE-CONFERENCE EVENT: THURSDAY, APRIL 16 – 10:00 am – 7:00 pm
For the Second year, NALIP presents a SPECIAL LATINO EDITION OF BACKSTAGE’s ACTORFEST.
This is a free event, open to Latino/Latina performers of all ages and experience. Some casting directors have specific needs, but most want to meet new talent!.

The Call begins with your arrival and registration at:
The Island Hotel, 690 Newport Center Dr., Newport Beach, CA. 92660 (Click here for MAP and Directions) – Go to the Palm Garden tent upon Arrival
(Valet Parking is $12 for the day at the Island Hotel during Actorfest)

All performers will be taken on a First Come, First Served basis
Bring LOTS of pictures and resumes – registration will be on site.

We will try to introduce all attendees to as many casting opportunities as possible. However, space is not unlimited; later arrivals may have fewer meetings or none at all. So please plan accordingly!

There Will Be Waiting!! Pack some food and water. Dress beautifully. Be prepared to read or do Q&A, maybe do some call backs!

WHILE YOU ARE WAITING….Experience great educational industry panels geared to the performer. SAG, Nosotros, AFTRA, NALIP, Telemundo/Mun2 and others will provide you with invaluable information about your careers and opportunities as Latino/a performers.

This is a PRE-CONFERENCE EVENT to the NALIP 10th National Conference. Actorfest is FREE. It ends at 7 pm on Thursday April 16, 2009.

Workshop: Actors and Directors: Industry Audition Do’s and Don’ts
Insider tips and mentoring along with head shot evaluation & actor presentation techniques. Script Prep & Cold Reads follow - Talent will be assigned partners to rehearse and prepare a scene for the class. There will be a brief discussion and assessment of scenes. Adjustments will be given and if time allows talent may be asked to present the scene again incorporating the adjustments (script or sides will be available) to work with.
