The new Barry R. Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema at Steiner Studios in Brooklyn, NY offers a 3-year specialized

education in 5 disciplines leading to an M.F.A: Producing, Directing, Screenwriting, Cinematography, and Post-

Production; and a 2 year M.A. in Cinema Studies. Housed in our new 68,000 sq. ft. purpose-built facility on the

Steiner Studios lot, Feirstein is the first public film school in New York and is dedicated to cultivating new and

The Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema at Brooklyn College is searching for a dynamic, high profile film

professional to teach in our exciting, specialized track in Producing, within the framework of the Feirstein Graduate

School. The program provides a close working and mentoring relationship with a small, carefully selected group of

students aspiring to careers in producing.

The successful candidate will have a national or international reputation and will possess the skills, background,

and temperament to contribute to a specialized program in all aspects of producing that aims to rival those of the

finest film schools in the country. Responsibilities include teaching graduate level classes, as well as participation in

program administration, curriculum development, and departmental committees.

Distinguished Lecturers are experienced practitioners who hold a full-time, non-tenure track position with a

maximum appointment period of seven years, subject to annual reappointment.

QUALIFICATIONS

- A Bachelor's degree or higher.

- A significant list of feature credits as a Producer in the film industry.

- A distinguished career as a producer with evidence of high profile recognition in the industry.

- College-level teaching experience is preferred.

- A demonstrable ability to create a dynamic classroom experience.

- The successful candidate should be capable of teaching most of the following courses: Integrated Media,

Production Management, Distribution & Exhibition, Producing for New Media, Finance for Film and Other

Media, Post-production Supervision, Portfolio Development, Thesis Project.

- A commitment to teaching at a public, urban institution serving a diverse student body.

COMPENSATION

$102,235 - $114,104; Commensurate with experience and credentials. All appointments are made in the Film

Department at Brooklyn College and are subject to financial availability.
