Join Us For a Sneak Peek Screening and Q&A of 'Firelight' at NALIP 2012!

As it gets harder and harder to develop, sell, and/or pitch character-driving projects to Hollywood studios, we need to look for other avenues to tell our stories. Television is a place that is actively looking for MOW (Movie of the Week) ideas - From Hallmark Hall of Fame, to the Hallmark Channel, Lifetime, A&E, ABC/Family, The Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and HBO, among others.  Join us at NALIP 2012: Diverse Voices, Universal Content to attend a private screening of Firelight starring Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding Jr. and Q’orianka Kilcher (The New World), and written by NALIPster Ligiah Villalobos (La Misma Luna). Firelight will screen at 4:00pm on Saturday, April 14, followed by a Q&A with filmmakers and cast!

Cuba Gooding Jr. plays Dwayne Johnson (D.J.) a counselor at a women’s correctional center who dedicates his professional life to helping young people reclaim their own self-respect through selfless service to others.  D.J. encourages the women to join an elite team that fights forest fires and assists civilian victims of natural disasters. A talented group of actors portray the young women who have made mistakes but are working to redeem themselves with D.J.’s help.
