Eva Longoria had a remarkable 2013. The actress finished the year with a new romance and a new TV show, and success as a businesswoman and as a social activist in the United States.

To start off 2014 in the best possible manner, the lovely Latina has been named "Woman of the Year" by Maxim. The actress and businesswoman will once more appear on the cover of the magazine for its January-February edition, in what promises to be one of the sexiest photo shoots of this year.

"It's especially wonderful after so long since my first cover," Eva told Maxim when she heard of her new title, according to People.

The last time Eva posed for Maxim was in 2006, so the title of woman of the year has taken the 38-year-old actress and philanthropist by surprise.

"I've had a beautiful relationship with Maxim all these years... When you see the cover you're going to say 'Yummy!'" said Longoria.

Since her role in "Desperate Housewives," Longoria has stood out in the media as one of the sexiest Latina celebrities, and although it seems that Eva enjoys this image, she has also made an effort to be acknowledged as something more than just a pretty face.

Besides her intense activity in public life in the U.S., her work as a businesswoman and philanthropist and the time she's taken to get her master's degree (she presented her thesis shortly before her interview with Maxim), Longoria says she also has time for home.

"Something that usually surprises people that get to know me better is how much I enjoy being home. When you see the sexy cover of Maxim and you compare it to a picture of me in an apron and with flour in my hair, it takes a moment to realize they're both me," the actress said, according to E! News.

Maxim's new magazine comes out Jan. 17.
