NY Latino Film Summit, June 21-22 in NYC

Filmmakers and media artists are invited to the New York Latino Film Summit, a free gathering of New York-based Latino film and media arts professionals that will take place on Friday, June 21, and Saturday, June 22 at the Film Society of Lincoln Center in New York City. The objective of this summit is to provide a space where professionals can convene to engage in open dialogue concerning the current and future state of U.S. Latinos in multimedia by reevaluating and adopting comprehensive strategies that address critical issues to strengthen community for more successful outcomes.

In spite of the growing influence of Latinos across the U.S., Latino multimedia is at a generational crossroads pivotal to its evolution. The overwhelming lack of a unified professional community and the dismantling of traditional business models impact fundraising, production, distribution, and exhibition, including Latino film festivals. These contributing factors lead to a considerable under-representation of Latino content in the media.
