The East Los Angeles Society of Film and Arts (TELA SOFA) proudly presents the 5th Annual East Los Angeles Film Festival (ELAFF) in collaboration with Bienvenidos, Coba Aguas Frescas, Self Help Graphics, City of Los Angeles Councilman Jose Huizar and Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina. The festival's mission is "To Provoke Thought, Inspire Solutions." Several NALIP members have films in the festival.

See www.telasofa.org for more information.

Political leaders in East LA  and Non-profit organizations with similar visions and community goals on Arts, Youth and Film come together to produce ELAFF in three categories; Young Directors, Vicious (in) Existence and Visionarios: Emerging Latino Voices. The film showcase will take place on Friday, September, 14, 2012 from 7pm to 10pm at Self Help Graphics, located on 1300 East 1st Street, Los Angeles, CA 90033. At Visionarios: Emerging Latino Voices you will meet the new Latino Directors that are ready to challenge Hollywood and produce films that truly "Provoke Thought, Inspire Solutions."

All films in the Visionarios: Emerging Latino Voices program are in English or subtitled in English. A Q&A session with the directors and wine/hors d'oeuvres reception to follow the films showcase.  After the films, guests are invited to an evening of scintillating art talk! Schmooze, network, be inspired, and meet the makers of your next artistic collaborator!

Doors open at 7:00 pm. See the schedule below for a complete list of activities.
