Cinema en tu Idioma Fall Film Series, San Diego

The San Diego Latino Film Festival is proud to present its 13th annual Cinema en tu Idioma Fall Film Series showcasing the best of Latin American, Mexican, and Spanish Cinema! SDLFF's Cinema en tu Idioma runs August through October 2012 at UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas at Hazard Center.

Cinema en tu Idioma opens in August with Juan of the Dead, a fantastic Cuban zombie film that mixes dark comedy and classic horror. One of the most popular films from SDLFF 2012, Juan of the Dead will screen August 3-9 at UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas at Hazard Center (off 163 Freeway & Friars Rd.).

Juan of the Dead: A massive zombie outbreak sends Havana, Cuba into chaos. Juan and hist motely crew of deadbeat friends are forced to engage in some revolutionary acts of capitalism in order to survive. Mixing classic horror with political commentary, Juan of the Dead plats like a potent Cuban cocktail made up of equal parts Night of the Living Dead and Shaun of the Dead. 

Juan of the Dead will screen for one-week only exclusively at UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas at Hazard Center. Daily screening times are: 11:30am, 1:45pm, 4:00pm, 8:30pm, and 10:45pm. 

Cinema en tu Idioma continues in September with the charming and heartfelt Argentine comedy Un Cuento Chino (Audience Award Winner SDLFF 2012), starring the great Ricardo Darin. Un Cuento Chino will screen September 7-13 at UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas at Hazard Center (off 163 Freeway & Friars Rd.).

Un Cuento Chino: Ricardo Darin stars as Roberto in this wild fish-out-of-water comedy, a lonely hardware store owner who collects clippings of bizarre news from around the world. One day, Roberto meets a Chinese emigre named Jun who doesn't speak Spanish ajnd seems lost amidst a foreign culture. After Roberto decides to help Jun locate his surrogate family, the two become unlikely friends as each man's past history is unveiled over time. 

Un Cuento Chino will screen for one-week only exclusively at UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas at Hazard Center. daily screening times are: 11:30am, 1:45pm, 4:00pm, and 8:30pm, with a 10:45pm screening on Friday and Saturday. 

Finally, in October Cinema en ti Idioma is proud to bring back Carlos Saura’s hypnotic performance film Flamenco, Flamenco, an audience favorite from SDLFF 2011. Flamenco, Flamenco will screen October 5-11 at UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas at Hazard Center (off 163 Freeway & Friars Rd.).

Flamenco, Flamenco: Spanish filmmaker Carlos Saura explores the current talents in the lively and dynamic art of Flamenco. The filmmaker's one desire is to enable audiences from around the world to enjoy film and art through music, dancing, and incredibly beauitful song.

Flamenco, Flamenco will screen for one-week only exclusively at UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas at Hazard Center. daily screening times are: 11:30am, 1:45pm, 4:00pm, and 8:30pm, with a 10:45pm screening on Friday and Saturday.
