NALIP Hosting Special Screening of 'Hard Labor' at Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival, June 7

The 2012 Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival and the National Association of Latino Independent Producers invites you to a special screening of the film Hard Labor when it makes it's West Coast premiere on Thursday, June 7th at 8pm.  There will be a post-screening Q&A with co-director Marco Dutra.

Domestic tensions arise when a husband loses his job and a housewife pursues her dream to open her own neighborhood grocery store, which may house an unsavory past.   Their anxieties become externalized when strange, sinister occurrences begin haunting them in this psychological thriller.

The 2012 Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival is our fourth year of showcasing international and domestic premieres of the preeminent in Indie Brazil cinema.  This year’s lineup features an impressive array of award-winning narrative features, shorts, and now, documentaries that come from filmmakers of a diverse range of genders and cultural backgrounds.  Many of these films have already played to enthusiastic reception at such esteemed festivals as Cannes, Venice, Rotterdam, and Toronto , so we are proud to grant southern California cinephiles a rare opportunity to experience these bold and daring works.
