The Latino Writers Lab Deadline - March 17
ATTENTION NALIPsters!
We are now accepting applications for NALIP’s 2008 Latino Writers Lab™! In its 6th year, this unique Signature Program is designed for NALIP members who aspire to work as professional screenwriters, or who desire to develop a strong, viable screenplay for production or sale. The Lab includes skills development by professional instructors, direct mentoring of your work-in-progress by writer/mentors, and professional lunches on issues of relevance to writers.
Only 12-15 projects will be selected. The program is spread over two long weekends, one in spring and one in fall, this program is designed as an 8-day intensive workshop. The first four-day seminar will take place in Santa Fe, NM, May 7 - 11, 2008. All projects accepted to the Lab will be mentored, developed and rewritten during the summer, and be ready for the second four-day seminar in September in Santa Monica, CA!

Cinesol Film Festival, a non-profit organization, is the premier film festival of the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas and is recognized by the Texas Commission on the Arts as one of the top media arts events in the state. Since 1993, Cinesol has offered a traveling film festival for the South Texas region. It has served as a mecca for local aspiring filmmakers to fuse with industry professionals in a social setting perfect for networking, learning about filmmaking, and enjoying quality entertainment from all over the world. The Opening Weekend is set for September 12-14 at the South Padre Island Convention Center. Cinesol is a month long event with several additional screenings at several Rio Grande Valley museums. Other activities include film workshops, the 36 Hour Film Race, special guests, forum discussions, and more.

Public Television’s gay and lesbian series is looking for documentary content to acquire.

IN THE LIFE has a 16-year heritage of producing powerful stories about the people and issues shaping the gay experience, nationally and abroad. Now we are looking to the independent producing community to help expand and diversify our programming.
IN THE LIFE MEDIA, INC is now seeking documentaries about the LGBTQ experience for our 2008 and 2009 season. We will consider non-fiction films of all lengths created by independent producers or entities in the past five years for acquisition. Preference will be given to broadcast premieres.
This is a rare opportunity for producers who have either evergreen docs that could be repurposed and given a 2nd or 3rd broadcast window or unused stories from past projects.

Superschool Weekend - Ad Industry Educational Event
The Brother Ad School, the most awarded ad school for creatives in Latin America in association with Spain's Zink Project!, and the Círculo Creativo for the U.S Hispanic market proudly present the Superschool Weekend on March 7, 8 and 9, 2008 in Los Angeles, CA.
This educational event is directed to the advertising and entertainment industries and will be conducted 100% in Spanish and simultaneously translated to English.
