
NALIP seeks a sharp, detail oriented, and computer savvy Membership Coordinator/Office Manager to run the day-to-day operations of our headquarters in Santa Monica, as well as manage a sizeable database of registered members. Daily work with filmmakers, projects and programs that help to advance the Latino Media Field. Regular staff work in fun Santa Monica office, but feels like production! Position starts Oct. 23.
Job Requirements:
-- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Film/TV, Business, Communications or related fields

-- Proficiency in PC (IT comfort a plus) word processing/Office software essential
-- FileMaker, HTML, web-publishing experience strongly preferred, but can be taught

WGBH, the PBS station in Boston, is looking for a producer, three associate producers and a production secretary for a new documentary series, Latin Music USA, beginning production this fall and scheduled to air in January 2009. From Mambo to Salsa to Tejano to Chicano Rock, Latin pop, and the urban sounds of Hip Hop and Reggaeton, Latin Music USA tells the story of new American music forged from powerful Latin roots, and explores the profound but largely unrecognized influence of Latin music in jazz, rhythm and blues, and rock and roll.
PRODUCER/LATIN MUSIC USA --Program 3
Program Description
Tejano, Chicano Rock and the Nuevo Corrido provide a window into the rise of Mexican American identity in the United States.
Position Overview
The Producer is responsible, under the supervision of the Executive Producer and Senior Producer, for all aspects of production of a one-hour television documentary, and for the research, planning, training or organizing activities that may be necessary or assigned with regard to such production
Requirements
The Producer is required to have completed one or more long format (1 hour) documentary films for national broadcast and must be familiar with Mexican American culture and music and have working knowledge of Spanish.
The producer will be responsible for outlining the program’s concept within the content and stylistic parameters set by the Executive Producer and Senior Producer for the documentary Series and to determine the necessary ingredients of production, including content, writing, editing, directing, talent, budget, research, both content and archive, and final realization of such elements in program format.
The producer will be responsible for originating the program’s treatment and script writing, research, planning, training or organizing activities in preparation for program production.
Representing WGBH with regard to funding, research, production, presentation and promotion of programs.
Hiring, with the approval of the Executive Producer and Senior Producer, supervising and training, of production team including Associate Producer, Cinematographer, Editor and all others engaged in the production of the Program in a way that is supports diversity and inclusion in the workplace and interacting in a way that is free from discrimination, intolerance or harassment.
Supervising editing of tape and/or film.
Ensuring adherence to all contracts or agreements and managing production resources with authorized budget.
Ensuring program compliance with all relevant law and government regulations as well as WGBH, PBS and other policies, standards, and practices, including acquiring of all necessary rights, clearances and releases for the appearances of all persons in the program. Maintaining required records.
Be able to work independently while functioning as part of a team, adhering to the requirement of the Series above and beyond those of the Program. Keeping appropriate executives and other producers in the Series informed of production and program plans as necessary, be willing to share production resources and time with other Producers in the Series, adhering to the schedule for screenings, meetings and broadcast as determined by the Executive Producer and the Senior Producer.
The producer will be responsible for generating materials relating to other media such as web, radio or pod casts as may be required by the Executive Producer.
ASSOCIATE PRODUCER/ LATIN MUSIC USA
Position Overview
The Associate Producer's responsibilities are delegated by the Executive Producer, Senior Producer, and Producer. The AP will be expected to be thoroughly familiar with the editorial and content objectives of the series. The AP will be asked to assist with the research process, including archive research in conjunction with the Project Archivist. The Associate Producer is responsible for coordinating and managing production shoots, working with service departments and outside vendors. Also responsible for production budget projections, tracking and compliance.

Requirements
- Proven experience in television long form documentary production
- Strong writing, organizational, administrative and
communication skills are required.

Position Overview
The Production Secretary will work under the direction of the Executive Producer and Senior Producer at WGBH in Boston. The Production Secretary should be familiar with editorial and content objectives of the series and be able to assist in all aspects of production including correspondence, preparation, proofreading, research, database creation/maintenance, coordinating meeting schedules and extensive travel arrangements.

Seeking Casting Director for EASTLA, an episodic pilot being produced under the auspices of USC's graduate dramatic series pilot course. We have a long list of roles of primarily Latino characters to cast and are hoping to hire top-quality talent. We have scheduled auditions for October 26 - 28 and need a Casting Director to help us manage these asap.
The storyline for EASTLA is as follows:
Decorated war veteran, Alex Guzman, returns home to East Los Angeles to start a new life with his new and pregnant wife. He thought he left the war behind, but finds that it continues in his own backyard. A twist on the crime drama told from the barrio's perspective.
We are looking for someone who would be willing to assume the responsibilities of a casting director on a pro bono basis. We would like someone who, in addition to what has been described above, could also help us identify up-and-coming and established talent that would not be accessible to us via our regular channels, and pitch the project to them as an opportunity to play leading and principal roles that depart from stereotypes and offer an opportunity to Latino actors to showcase their ability.
We are offering copy and credit. Due to the limited, student budget, we are not able to offer pay. An honorarium may be negotiable. Character breakdowns and scripts are available upon request.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must have a high level of experience with Macromedia Flash (up to and including Flash 8) including broad experience with varying design and animation styles. Advanced experience with Flash motion development, animation builds, and action scripting a must. Must be a creative thinker, well organized, and detail orientated, with 4 - 6 years of interactive design experience. Experience with entertainment industry related projects a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as lead and/or primary Flash Developer, contributing to the strategy through conceptual design and development to flash execution for various entertainment related website and rich media projects. Work with creative director to build complete Flash websites from start to finish including all animation, programming & sound design. Currently, we are seeking assistance in organizing the 15th Anniversary edition of the festival. Assistance is needed from November 2007 to April 2008. Depending on the position, the bulk of work will of course take place March 1 through March 20.
